Albany
California, in Alameda
County, named that way after their first
mayor who was from Albany NY, was used
as a garbage dump in the early 1900’s for the
residences of Berkeley.
Two women who lived in Albany, Then
is was called the City of Ocean
View, single handedly held up the garbage
wagon and told them to never come back. Shortly there
after the townspeople voted in their first mayor and
incorporated as Albany California.
Needless to say, Albany
is rich in history! Albany is a very desirable community with excellent schools
and lovely quiet tree lined streets. Albany

Albany is also home to the famous horse racing track
Golden
Gate Fields that has been long established before
World War II. Many find this a great source of entertainment

A large part of Albany has excellent
views of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of the more famous streets in Albany is Albany
Hill where the City of El Cerrito got it's name.
