When preparing
a home for sale, there are some overall things that
should be taken care of before potential buyers come
to see the home. There are many different opinions about
what is most important but when it all boils down the
home should be freshly painted, clean, and clutter free.
Here are a few pointers.

Paint the
home inside and outside if necessary
•
Make
sure that all floors including carpet are clean
•
Take a walk outside and look at
the property as if you were a potential buyer. What is
your first impression? Is there anything that needs attention?

Make sure that
all light bulbs and lamps are working. It is important
to have a bright home when it is being shown
•
Take a look at the yard. Remove
any dead flowers or plants. Make the yard look warm and
inviting. Take the time to make sure the lawn has been
mowed and the yard overall looks presentable.

Clean all windows
•
Make sure the bathrooms are clean
and there are no leaking faucets.
•
Make sure that
all closets are organized. A seller does not want to have
a potential buyer like the house but open the closet to
have things falling on them.
•
Remember; You never get a second
chance to make a first impression
Taking care
of these types of issues will help your home show better to
potential buyers. There are some other things that can be done,
like staging the home, but overall these things will greatly
increase the chances of selling the home.
